Jeremiah 1 1 2 This message came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah, king of 犹大王漆德克雅第十年，拿步高在位第十八年，由上主传给耶肋米亚的话： 2 At that time the army of the king of 3 Zedekiah, king of Judah, had imprisoned him there, remonstrating: ＂How dare you prophesy: Thus says the LORD: I am handing over this city to the king of Babylon, who will capture it. 犹大王漆德克雅幽禁了先知，对他说：＂你为什么预言说：上主这样说：看，我必将这城交在巴比伦王手中，他要占领这座城； 4 Neither shall Zedekiah, king of 犹大王漆德克雅必逃不出加色丁人的手，因为他必被交在巴比伦王的手中，与他面对面相谈，眼对眼相视； 5 and Zedekiah shall be taken to 他必带漆德克雅到巴比伦去，住在那里，直到我再来看顾他──上主的断语──你们若抵抗加色丁人，决不会成功？＂ 6 3 This message came to me from the LORD, said Jeremiah: 耶肋米亚说：＂有上主的话传给我说： 7 4 Hanamel, son of your uncle Shallum, will come to you with the offer: ＂Buy for yourself my field in Anathoth, since you, as nearest relative, have the first right of purchase.＂ 看，你叔父沙隆的儿子哈纳默耳要到你这里来说：你购买我在阿纳托特的那块田吧！因为你有买回的权利，应把它买回来＂。 8 Then, as the LORD foretold, Hanamel, my uncle's son, came to me to the quarters of the guard and said, ＂Please buy my field in Anathoth, in the district of Benjamin; as nearest relative, you have the first claim to possess it; make it yours.＂ I knew this was what the LORD meant, 我叔父的儿子哈纳默耳，正如上主所说，到监狱庭院里来找我，对我说：＂请你购买我在本雅明地内阿纳托特的那块田吧！因为你有继承权，和有权买回你为你自己买下吧！＂于是我知道，这是上主的话。 9 so I bought the field in Anathoth from my cousin Hanamel, paying him the money, seventeen silver shekels. 我便买了我叔父的儿子哈纳默耳在阿纳托特的那块田地，秤给他十七＂协刻耳＂银子， 10 When I had written and sealed the deed, called witnesses and weighed out the silver on the scales, 11 5 I accepted the deed of purchase, both the sealed copy, containing title and conditions, and the open one. 然后按照法定条例，拿着加封和未加封的购买契约， 12 This deed of purchase I gave to Baruch, son of Neriah, son of Mahseiah, in the presence of my cousin Hanamel and of the witnesses who had signed the deed, and before all the men of 当着我叔父的儿子哈纳默耳，和在购买契约上签名的见证人，以及监狱庭院里在座的众犹大人眼前，将这购买的契约交给了乃黎雅的儿子，玛赫色雅的孙子巴路克， 14 6 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Take these deeds, both the sealed and the open deed of purchase, and put them in an earthen jar, so that they can be kept there a long time. ＂万军的上主，以色列的天主这样说：将这些加封和未加封的文件，购买的契约拿去，放在一瓦器内，长久保存， 15 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Houses and fields and vineyards shall again be bought in this land. 16 After giving the deed of purchase to Baruch, son of Neriah, I prayed thus to the LORD: 我将购买的契约交给乃黎雅的儿子巴路克以后，便祈求上主说： 17 Ah, Lord GOD, you have made heaven and earth by your great might, with your outstretched arm; nothing is impossible to you. ＂啊！我主上主！看，你以你的大能和伸展的手臂，创造了天地；为你是没有困难的事。 18 You continue your kindness through a thousand generations; and you repay the fathers' guilt, even into the lap of their sons who follow them. O God, great and mighty, whose name is LORD of hosts, 你对千万人施行仁慈，但也向后世的子孙本人，追讨他们祖先的罪债；你是伟大有力的天主，＂万军的天主＂是你名号。 19 great in counsel, mighty in deed, whose eyes are open to all the ways of men, giving to each according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds: 20 you have wrought signs and wonders in the 你直到今日在埃及地，在以色列和人世间，施行奇迹和异事，使你自己成名，有如今日； 21 With strong hand and outstretched arm you brought your people 你以灵迹奇事，有力的手腕和伸展的臂膊，巨大恐吓，从埃及地领出了你的人民以色列， 22 This land you gave them, as you had promised their fathers under oath, a land flowing with milk and honey. 给了他们你曾向他们的祖先起誓，要给他们的这块流奶流蜜的土地。 23 They entered and took possession of it, but they did not listen to your voice; by your law they did not live, and what you commanded they failed to do. Is anything impossible to me? 28 This now is what the LORD says: I will hand over this city to the Chaldeans, for Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, to take. 为此，上主这样说：看，我将这城交在加色丁人和巴比伦王拿步高的手中，他必占领这座城。 29 The Chaldeans who are attacking it shall enter this city and set fire to it, burning it and its houses, on the roofs of which incense was burned to Baal and libations were poured out to strange gods as a provocation to me. 进攻这城的加色丁人要来放火焚烧，把这座城和在屋顶上给巴耳焚香，向外神行奠礼，惹我动怒的房屋，烧得干干净净， 30 The Israelites and the Judeans from their youth have done only what is evil in my eyes; the Israelites did nothing but provoke me with the works of their hands, says the LORD. 因为以色列和犹大子民自幼在我眼前只知作恶；实在，以色列子民双手所行的，无不使我动怒──上主的断语── 31 From the day it was built to this day, this city has excited my anger and wrath, 实在，这座城，自从他们开始建筑那一天，直到今日，常惹我动怒生气，致使我不得不从我面前将她消灭。 32 so that I must put it out of my sight for all the wickedness the Israelites and Judeans, with their kings and their princes, their priests and their prophets, the men of Judah and the citizens of Jerusalem, have done to provoke me. 这全是出于以色列和犹大子民，即他们、他们的君王、朝臣、司祭、先知，以及犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民，所行的一切使我动怒的恶事。 33 They turned their backs to me, not their faces; though I kept teaching them, they would not listen to my correction. 他们对我转过背来，却不对我转过脸来；我虽不断恳切施教，他们仍不愿听从，接受劝告； 34 They defiled the house named after me by the horrid idols they set up in it. 反将可恶之物安置在归我名下的殿里，使我的殿宇受到了玷污； 35 7 They built high places to Baal in the Valley of Ben-hinnom, and immolated their sons and daughters to Molech, bringing sin upon Judah; this I never commanded them, nor did it even enter my mind that they should practice such abominations. 又在本希农山谷给巴耳建立了一些丘坛，给摩肋客火祭自己的子女：这是我从来没有吩咐，也从来没有想到过的事；他们竟做出这些可恶的事，来引诱犹大犯罪。 36 Now, therefore, thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city, which as you say is handed over to the king of Babylon amid sword, famine, and pestilence: 现在，上主以色列的天主，对这座你说要因兵戈饥荒瘟疫，而被交在巴比伦王手中的城市，却这样说： 37 Behold, I will gather them together from all the lands to which in anger, wrath, and great rage I banish them; I will bring them back to this place and settle them here in safety. 看，我必从我生气愤恨发怒时驱逐他们所到的各地，再召集他们，领他们回到这地方来，安然居住， 38 They shall be my people, and I will be their God. 作我的人民，我作他们的天主， 39 One heart and one way I will give them, that they may fear me always, to their own good and that of their children after them. 且使他们一心一德，终生敬畏我，造福自己和自己后代的子孙； 40 I will make with them an eternal covenant, never to cease doing good to them; into their hearts I will put the fear of me, that they may never depart from me. 与他们订立一永久的盟约，再不离弃他们，为他们谋幸福，将敬畏我之情赋于他们心内，使他们不再离开我； 41 I will take delight in doing good to them: I will replant them firmly in this land, with all my heart and soul. 乐意好待他们，专心致志将他们安顿在这城里。 42 For thus says the LORD: Just as I brought upon this people all this great evil, so I will bring upon them all the good I promise them. 因为上主这样说：我怎样给这人民招来了这一切大灾祸，也要同样给他们招来我预许的一切幸福。 43 Fields shall again be bought in this land, which you call a desert, without man or beast, handed over to the Chaldeans. 在这个你们说已成荒野，已人兽绝迹，已交在加色丁人手中的地域里，还有田地的交易； 44 Fields shall be bought with money, deeds written and sealed, and witnesses shall be used in the land of Benjamin, in the suburbs of Jerusalem, in the cities of Judah and of the hill country, in the cities of the foothills and of the Negeb, when I change their lot, says the LORD. 在本雅明地，在耶路撒冷城郊，在犹大、山地、平原和南部的城里，人们还要花钱买田，写契盖章，请人作证，因为我要转变他们的命运──上主的断语＂。 Footnotes(注解) 1 [1-44] This chapter recounts a prophecy ＂in action.＂ At the Lord's command, Jeremiah fulfills his family duty to purchase the land of his cousin, carrying out all the legal forms, including records, to testify that Judah will be restored and that the life of the past will be resumed. 2 [1] The tenth year of Zedekiah: 588 B.C. The eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar: dating his reign from his victory at Carchemish; see note on Jeremiah 25:1-14. 3 [6-9] Jeremiah's imprisonment by the weak-willed Zedekiah was a technical custody that did not deprive him of all freedom of action. The siege maintained by the Chaldeans (Jeremiah 32:2) was only now beginning (Jeremiah 32:24), and could be bypassed by individual persons going to and fro between Jerusalem and nearby Anathoth. 4 [7] The first right of purchase: the obligation of the closest relative to redeem the property of one in economic distress, so that the ancestral land might remain within the family (Lev 25:25-28); see note on Ruth 2:20. 5 [11] The sealed copy . . . and the open one: the legal deed of sale was written on a scroll, which was then rolled up and sealed; about it was rolled another scroll, left unsealed, containing a copy or a summary of the first. 6 [14] In an earthen jar: the first of the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in such a jar. 7 [35] Molech: the god to whom human sacrifice was offered in the Valley of Ben-hinnom.
